Barolo is a red wine made entirely from Nebbiolo, a variety that is best expressed in the Piedmont region, where it is indigenous (Forbes, 2018). It is often described as one of Italy’s greatest wines.
Known as the champagne of Spain, Cava is a sparkling wine produced mostly in Catalonia, Spain. The style is typically quite dry, which makes it perfect for Aussie summers (The Upsider, 2017).
In Portuguese, a ‘quinta’ is a wine-producing estate, which can be a winery or a vineyard. It is also a system which grades the terroir of quality vineyards from the Douro region, verifying the grapes which are suitable for the making of Port wine (Wine Frog, 2021).
Vilana is a white wine variety grown primarily on the island of Crete in Greece. It has a medium intensity of aromas, and flavours showing notes of lemon, orange, pear, flowers (like jasmine), and herbs (New Wines of Greece, 2021).
